Untitled Moon Collage

Here’s a digital collage, commissioned by my friends in the band Fresh Hearts for use on a gig poster last year.  The poster itself turned out well, but mostly I just dig this image.  It was my first time creating something of this type, and the assignment was to do something Robert Pollard-inspired.  It’s sourced from a few different vintage illustrations, photos and advertisements.

It’s admittedly a bit of a cheat to do this stuff digitally rather than with real cut-outs, but what the hell.  I like how it turned out.

Desireé Nash’s “Check Please”

I created this poster a little over a year ago for the first run of Desireé Nash’s outstanding solo show, Check Please.

She’s bringing it back to The PIT again THIS VERY NIGHT, so it seemed like a good time to post it.

And it’s also her birthday, so, you know.  You should definitely go see this hilarious show.

Happy birthday, Dez!

Came across this guy in one of my old sketchbooks.  A rough one for sure, but I like him.

This seems like as good a place as any to start.
Here’s a caricature I drew of Daniel Rossen and Fred Nicolaus (of the band Department of Eagles) way back in 2005, before they released In Ear Park and became the indie darlings they are now.
Plain old graphite pencil on sketchbook paper.
